Announcing the launch of WindSim 4.2 for Windows
VECTOR is pleased to announce the launch of WindSim version 4.2 which will be presented at EWEC 2003, the European Wind Energy Conference in Madrid 16-19 June. The VECTOR team looks forward to welcoming you at our Stand F20 in order to see the latest version, and benefit from some hands-on experience.
WindSim version 4.2 brings to your fingertips the power of CFD, Computational Fluid Dynamics. Making feasible reliable wind resource assessments and energy optimisations in your wind energy projects, even in complex terrain.
WindSim development started back in 1997. At that time the program needed to be run on powerful workstations under the UNIX operating system and as such, these WindSim simulations were offered as part of our consulting services to the windpower industry.
Things have changed!
Today WindSim consists of a range of modules embedded in a userfriendly Windows environment, making it easy for users to set-up, execute and interpret results from wind field simulations themselves.
During the last 6 months extensive testing has been undertaken by a group of early users, consisting of the following companies:
Barlovento Recursos Naturales Spain
Ecotecnia Spain
Enerfin, Grupo Elecnor Spain
Urbaenergia, Grupo Dragados Spain
Vestas Wind Systems Denmark
As a result of their experience, their requests and suggestions, further useful extensions have been added to the WindSim version 4.2.
